Pride Month

As communications manager for the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), one of my goals as a member of the marketing and communications team is to introduce monthly Awareness campaigns that have not been previously acknowledged or celebrated by the organization. In the first year of this initiative, our team goal was to do small-scale campaigns that would serve as building blocks for acknowledging these events in years to come.

Acknowledging awareness campaigns is an essential component of building a modern social presence and is an opportunity to engage current our current audience while potentially introducing new audiences to our brand. The benefit of prioritizing campaigns like Pride Month at a medical organization is acknowledging the inequities that marginalized communities face, highlighting essential resources to combat those inequities, and offering inclusive and diverse spaces that celebrate the unique aspects of life in those communities.
