SGO Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer: Prescheduled Graphics

Each year, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) hosts the Annual Meeting, a premier educational and scientific event for those who treat and care for individuals with gynecologic cancer. the Marketing and Communications team is responsible for all outgoing communications associated with the event, including social media, press releases, email campaigns, and pre- and post- event announcements and blog articles.

Using insights from last year’s event (2023) and our first event as a team, I raised the idea to develop graphics for our 2024 event that we could pre-schedule so that onsite communication efforts could be focused on capturing unique in-person moments and coordinated interviews. Drawing inspiration from events I have personally attended in my leisure time such as music festivals, I created eye-catching graphics that direct attendees to key events or areas of note in the event hall.

This year, we welcomed 3,351 participants from 36 countries to learn about the latest in research in gynecologic oncology, and we received favorable feedback about our social media presence during the event. For future events, I intend to expand on this initiative to create space for more robust event social strategies and content capturing opportunities.
